A special National Lok Adalat is being organised on July 16 from 9:30 am onwards at the District Court Complex, Sector 43, for the disposal of approximately 7,400 traffic challans issued and pending for compounding during the financial year 2020-21.

During the fiscal 2020-21, 2,281 vehicles were impounded by the Chandigarh Traffic Police. The process for auction of these vehicles has already been initiated by sending notices to the registered vehicle owners. The owners of such vehicles have been asked to avail themselves of this opportunity to compound their challans and get their vehicles released lest these should be auctioned.

Moreover, all those who have been issued challans for other traffic violations during 2020 may also attend the Lok Adalat to compound their challans. An updated list of impounded vehicles is also available on the official website of the Chandigarh Police.
