SSCB bag overall title

Team SSCB bagged the overall title in both taolu and sanda categories on the concluding day of the 29th Senior National Men & Women Wushu Championship, organised by the Wushu Association of India, at Chandigarh University, Gharuan.
Team SSCB won nine medals – six gold, one silver and two bronze – to lift the overall trophy in the men’s and women’s sanda category, whereas Haryana won 12 medals – three gold, five silver and four bronze – to lift the runner-up trophy. Teh Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) team claimed the third place by bagging six medals.
In taolu event, Team SSCB won 20 medals – 13 gold, four silver and three bronze – to lift the overall trophy. Madhya Pradesh won 18 medals- five gold, 10 silver and three bronze – and Manipur claimed third position with 12 medals.
In the final women’s sanda event of Wushu, Priyanka defeated Huma Khan in the 45kg category, whereas Namrata Batra won gold by defeating Savita in the 48kg weight category.
In the 52kg category, Arunachal Pradesh’s Onilu Teja defeated ITBP’s Chaoba Devi and Oinam Badiapathi Chanu from All-India Police, N Roshibina Devi from Manipur, Shruti from MP, T Menaka Devi from the ITBP and Pooja Kadian from Haryana bagged gold medals in different medals.
