Start hearing cases of extreme exigency: Bar association

The District Bar Association (DBA) has urged the District and Sessions Judge to kick-start filing and hearing cases of extreme exigency.

DBA president NK Nanda said the priority of cases post-lockdown period can be restricted to anticipatory bails, regular bails, protection matters and cases in which evidence have been concluded.

Routine cases wherein no immediate urgency is involved or in cases wherein evidence has to be led can be deferred till normal court working starts, he said.

In terms of civil matters, urgent cases, including injunction, direction or stay is concerned should be heard by the Presiding Officers, he said and added that cases can be filed by way of e-filing by giving compiled matter or applications to official e-mail ID. — TNS
