Looking to ensure clean, smoke-free kitchens, the state government will provide women from (Below Poverty Line) BPL families to obtain LPG cylinders at a subsidised rate of Rs 500 every month.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Monica Gupta said the “Har Ghar, Har Grihini Yojana” was initiated by the food and supplies department. Elaborating on the provisions, the DC said eligible women can register on the scheme’s official portal.
She furhter added that the “Har Ghar-Har Grahini Yojana” has been launched with the aim to prove clean fuel to BPL families and improving the women’s standard of living.
“Low-income households, who cannot afford LPG at full price and depend on traditional resources for cooking, will especially benefit from the scheme,” she further added.
The DC said the government had already begun the Ujjwala scheme to provide LPG connections, under which gas connection is available for Rs 500. Now, women from families whose annual income is Rs 1.8 lakh or less can avail the benefit of “Har Ghar-Har Grahini Yojana”.
