Strawberry Fields cagers win 2nd league game at U-14 meet
St Kabir School, Sector 26, also moves ahead by recording a 40-14 win over St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44
Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26, boys recorded a 35-24 win over Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36, on the second day of the U-14 Basketball Tournament, organised by the UT Sports Department, at the Sector 42 Sports Complex.
St Kabir School, Sector 26, also moved ahead by recording a 40-14 win over St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, and New Public School, Sector 18, posted a 26-7 win over Vivek High School, Sector 38. Delhi Public School, Sector 40, recorded another one-sided 20-06 win over Guru Harkishan School, Sector 38.
In the girls’ category, Sacred Heart School, Sector 26, posted a 32-4 win over St Joseph’s School. New Public School won their league match against Guru Nanak Public School 23-14, while Gurukul Global School, Manimajra, recorded a 15-3 win over Vivek High School. New Public School defeated Strawberry School 39-27 in their league match.
Earlier, in the opening round, the boys’ team of Chitkara International School (CIS), Sector 25, and the girls’ team of Strawberry Fields High School (SFHS) won their respective matches. In the girls’ event, the Sector 26 team defeated Carmel Convent, Sector 9. The side posted a 10-4 win as Nyrah scored six points and Keana posted three. Anaaya and Angel contributed two points each for the Sector 9 team. Aarav posted 11 points as Chitkara School boys posted a 25-14 win over Strawberry School. Yuvraj also contributed in the team’s win by scoring eight points. Priyansh scored six and Bhavyam contributed four for the Strawberry team. Gurvir gathered all points for the Sector 38 team.
Delhi Public School, Sector 40, won their opening league match by posting a 19-5 win over St Anne’s School, Sector 32. Aarush (7 points) and Aadi (6) scripted the team’s win. Samarbir added three and Aarav posted two for the Sector 32 School. In the girls’ event, Vivek High School defeated St Joseph’s School 24-3 as Tarni scored 10 points and Ayanna (8). St Anne’s School defeated Guru Nanak Public School 14-3 with Mishika scoring 10 points, and Ryka and Jaskirat contributing two points each. Prabhjot added three points for the losing side.
