Strawberry Fields School bags twin titles in interschool championship

Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26, bagged twin titles in the interschool squash championship held a few days back. The boys’ U-17 and U-19 teams of the Sector 26 outfit won their respective finals. In the boys’ U-17 category, Delhi Public School, Sector 40, claimed the second position, followed by Government Model High School (GMHS), Sector 42, at third and GMHS, Sector 43, at fourth.

In the U-19 category, Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 37, claimed the second position and St John’s High School, Sector 26, finished third. DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 15, claimed the fourth position. In the last day’s matches, the Sector 26 team defeated Sector 40 School 2-1, while GMHS, Sector 43, registered a 2-1 win over GMHS, Sector 42, in the boys’ U-17 category. In the U-19 category, DAV school went down 0-2 against St John’s lads.

In the girl’s U-14 kho-kho event, GMHS, Sector 42, claimed the third position by recording a nine-point win over Sacred Heart School, Sector 26. MDAV School, Sector 22, defeated Shishu Niketan School, Sector 43, by nine points in the boys’ U-14 event while in the boys’ U-17 event, GMHS, Sector 42, defeated GMHS, Sector 7, by six points. GMHS, Sector 32, defeated Modern Ways School, Sector 29, by five points. MDAV defeated GMSSS, Sector 33, by one point in the boys’ U-19 event.

Harshita wins gold

Harshita Gupta, a student of Shishu Niketan Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 22-D, won a gold medal in the interschool boxing competition for girls’ U-17 category. She claimed the top position in the 57-60kg weight category. Saiyam Choudhary from the same school clinched gold medal in the interschool judo championship for boys’ U-17 category.

Saksham Yadav bagged the boys’ U-17 bronze medal in the 73kg weight category. Yugraj won the bronze medal in the interschool taekwondo championship for boys’ U-14 category. In the boys’ U-17 lawn tennis event, DAV School defeated Bhavan Vidalaya, Sector 27, 2-1. Delhi Public School logged a 2-0 win over St Soldier’s School, Sector 28. DAV School won the boys’ U-19 table tennis title by logging a 3-0 win over DC Montessori, Mani Majra. St Anne’s School, Sector 32, registered a 3-1 win over GMSSS, Sector 16, to finish third.

In the interschool boys’ U-17 chess championship, Tender Heart School, Sector 33, cleared the second round by logging a 4-0 win over Aanchal International School, Sector 41. St Mary School, Sector 37, defeated GMSSS, Karsan, 3-2, while St Kabir School, Sector 26, ousted GMSSS, Sector 35, 4-0. St Stephen’s School, Sector 45, posted a 4-0 win over Shishu Niketan School, Sector 43, and Gurukul Global School, Mani Majra, logged a 4-0 win over MDAV School. Ryan International School played a draw against Delhi Public School.
