Strikers Club teams won the 40th Senior State Softball Championship (men and women) concluded at the Mani Majra Sports Complex. In the women’s final, Strikers Club defeated Mission Club 2-1 to bag the title. City Hawks lads recorded a 1-0 win over Government College for Girls, Sector 11, to finish at third position.

Earlier, in the semifinals, Strikers Club posted a 1-0 win over the Sector 11 team, while Mission Club overpowered City Hawks 2-1.

Meanwhile, Strikers Club men’s team won the title by defeating Mission Club 1-0. Fiends Club logged a 1-0 win over CMC Club, Sector 10, to claim the third position. In the semis, Strikers Club defeated the Sector 10 team 3-0, and Mission Club defeated Friends Club 3-2.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
