Deceased Aditya Thakur, a second-year Computer Science Engineering student from the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), had sustained stab injuries in the thigh during the scuffle with a group of ‘outsiders’ around 9:30 pm. The police have failed to trace the assailants.

Eyewitnesses said the assailants were not university students. Student union members said despite the main gate being closed for Haryanvi singer Masoom Sharma’s show, how the outsiders managed to enter the campus.
