Sukhna, Leisure, Plaza Zones log victory in cricket tournament

Skipper Tushar Joshi and Sanyam Saini posted commanding centuries to steer Sukhna Zone past Rose Zone on the basis of first innings lead in the UTCA Senior Men Multi Day Tournament. In reply to Rose Zone’s modest 222, Sukhna piled up 395/6 with yet another half century from Yuvraj Rai (56). Nikhil Sharma (3/52) was the pick of the Rose attack.

In the second match, Leisure Zone stamped their authority against Rock Zone. Leisure’s total of 289 proved more than enough as Harshit Singh (3/28) and Sunny Singh (2/26) combined to dismiss Rock Zone for 181, despite a fighting 33 from Jashanjot Singh. In the third match, Plaza Zone beat Terrace Zone on first innings advantage. Chasing Terrace’s 350, Plaza slid to 256/8 before No. 9 Vivek Vashisht unleashed a whirlwind 75 off 40 balls to lift his side to 359 all out.
