The Badminton Association of India (BAI) has nominated local coach Surinder Mahajan as Senior Lecturer for the BAI Level-1 (Advanced) Course at Raipur, Chhattisgarh, from February 14 to 23.

Mahajan who is senior vice-president (administration), Chandigarh Badminton Association, and joint secretary, BAI, had earlier headed BAI coaching development programme for amateur coaches as an expert.

The camp will be attended by 100 budding coaches of the nation. Besides covering the theoretical syllabus, which include training method, psychology, knowledge and precautions of injury and technical developments, the participants will be given practical knowledge about the sport.

“I am thankful to the BAI for appointing me as a senior lecturer for this programme. The nation is moving in right direction in sports and coaches of individual sport like badminton have contributed a lot. Such camps will not only benefit youngsters, but will also provide them with a platform to interact with senior coaches,” said Mahajan who appreciated the BAI’s efforts in training the coaches from across the nation.
