Survey on women health, hygiene part of college camp

The seven-day NSS camp organised at Post Graduate Government College, Sector 46, concluded today.

The closing ceremony of the camp started with lighting of a lamp by Prof Dr Rosy Walia Joshi, Principal of the college, and special guest of honour Rahul Mahajan, an eminent environmentalist.

During the camp, the volunteers of the NSS unit performed several activities such as awareness programmes on themes ‘Ek Bharat, Shresth Bharat’, drug de-addiction, Swachh Bharat, water conservation, women safety, tree plantation, health and hygiene, disaster management, communal harmony and motivation lectures.

The events were organised on the college campus as well as at the college’s adopted village, Ramdarbar. During the camp, eminent scholars from various fields shared their knowledge and experience with NSS volunteers. A survey on specially-abled people and women health and hygiene was also conducted at Ramdarbar. The camp concluded with various cultural events presented by NSS volunteers. Best NSS volunteers were awarded by Principal Dr Rosy Walia Joshi. She applauded the efforts of NSS volunteers while highlighting the importance of selfless service for the welfare of society.
