A magnificent century from Suyash Pradbhudessai (124) helped hosts Goa lay a strong foundation of 267/3 against the UT boys on the opening day of the Ranji Trophy match being played in Porvorim on Friday.
Goa won the toss and opted to bat first. Arpit Singh gave the first taste of success to the visitors by dismissing Ishaan Gadekar (45) with 79 on the board. Later, Siddharth and Suyash improved the team’s score with a 149-run partnership. Rajangad separated the duo by dismissing Siddharth (77) at a team score of 228/2. Thereafter, Snehal Kauthankar (6) went cheaply reducing the side to 250/3. Snehal was dismissed by Jagjit Singh Sandhu. By the end of the day, Suyash scored 124 runs, and RA Tripathi added 12 runs before the stumps were drawn.
