'Swapan Aajeevika Mart' inaugurated in P'kula

Haryana Speaker Gian Chand Gupta has said that under the Haryana State Rural Livelihood Mission, members of women self-help groups are able to beat multinational companies by making new products on the basis of their skills and talents.
Gupta was addressing the gathering after inaugurating the “Swapan Aajeevika Mart” in a series of programmes being organised by the Haryana State Rural Livelihood Mission under the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav at the Parade Ground here today.
He, along with Development and Panchayat Minister Devindera Singh Babli, also inspected 75 stalls set up by women self-help groups one by one in the fair. He also interacted with members of the self-help groups.
He said the objective of the Haryana State Rural Livelihood Mission was to improve the standard of living of artisans, craftsmen and entrepreneurs of the state by increasing their livelihood opportunities. Efforts were also being made to encourage the cuisine and culture of Haryana through these rural marts.
He said the Haryana Government had started this special programme for self-help groups of the state. Special attention was being paid to Antyodaya families registered under the Parivar Pehchan Patra Scheme of the Haryana Government. Business-to-Consumer (B2C) model – Rural Mart was acting as a platform for businesses to engage directly with consumers.
Minister Devinder Singh Babli said besides Swapan Aajeevika Mart, the Haryana Government had also taken an initiative to sell their goods through online marketing such as Flipkart, Amazon and CSC Grameen e-Store.
Deputy Commissioner Mahavir Kaushik, Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal, DCP Surinder Pal Singh and Zila Parishad Chief Executive Officer Gagandeep Singh were also present on the occasion.
