The MC will organise the 49th Rose Festival, dedicated to frontline warriors, from February 26 to 28. A meeting of the sub-committee that will organise the symbolic fest was held here today under the chairmanship of Mayor Ravi Kant Sharma,.

Members of the committee decided that all frontline worriers would be honoured during the function. It also decided to honour RWAs and other organisations that rendered social service during Covid times. It decided to explore the possibilities of organising simple cultural programmes, including a “Hasya Kavi Darbar” and folk items, through sponsorship, if any. — TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
