Take measures during peak time to check accidents

It is appreciable that the UT police are focusing on challaning those indulging in speeding during the night hours in the city by installing more night-vision cameras. However, if we look at the 2017 statistics, maximum road accidents in the city took place between 9 pm and midnight. The prime reason behind fatal road accidents across the country is speeding vehicles. The authorities concerned should take necessary precautionary steps to control accidents during the peak time as revealed by the data. Public awareness drives should be held, along with frequent checking and challaning of violators. We all must understand that every life is precious.
