The CGCTA representatives had recently met the UT Administrator. “The teachers serving in government colleges are selected on merit through tough competition in Union Public Service Commission, New Delhi. More than 200 teachers joined the city in anticipation of better service conditions and expected contribution to the city known as Education Hub. However, the service conditions on the pattern of Central government have not been given to them after several representations and lengthy litigation in 2022,” claimed Manoj Kumar, Secretary of the association.

“The GoI notification has not been enforced. Several representations have been made to the concerned officials in Chandigarh Administration. The department is delaying the time bound promotions of these teachers,” he added.
