To ensure public health and safety during the festival season, the Chandigarh Food Safety and Standards Department has constituted four teams of food safety officers to conduct surveillance drives and lift samples of sweets, milk, milk products, including ghee, khoya and paneer, and other food articles to check adulteration.

The department urged the residents and consumers to purchase food products, especially milk and milk products, bakery products, dry fruits, sweets, etc, from licensed shops that maintain proper hygiene and maintain quality.
