City’s Divyansh Dhupar faced a tough resistance by third seed Eeshan Choudhary of West Bengal before recording a major upset during the Roots AITA CS(7) National Rankings Championship. Dhupar won the first set in a tie-break finish 7-6(4) while went down 2-6 in the next set. In the final set, Dhupar held his nerved and recorded a 6-2 win to move ahead in the boys’ U-14 category.
Anay Pandey of UP toppled Shaurya Bhist 6-1 6-1, while Punjab’s Yash Verma outplayed Raghav Singh 6-4 6-2. Haryana’s Naitik Deval also moved into the next round by defeating Ayaan Mittal 5-7 6-4 7-6(3), and Haryana’s Jayditya Seth overpowered Jahaan Jolly 7-6(2) 6-2. Chandigarh Ayaan Chandel defeated Vrishin Awasthi 6-2 7-6(3).
