The Tribune School, Sector 29, hosted its annual function on the theme, “Tamso Maa Jyotirgamaya”, a call to lead society from darkness to light through compassion, unity and wisdom. The event was marked by attendance of dignitaries, soulful performances and an atmosphere filled with cultural vibrance.

Justice SS Sodhi, Trustee, The Tribune, attended the event as the special guest, accompanied by Bonnie Sodhi. The school management committee members, Chand Nehru, Komal Anand and Anuradha Dua also attended the event

Amit Sharma, General Manager, The Tribune Trust; Naresh Kaushal, Editor, Dainik Tribune; and Arvinder Kaur, Editor, Punjabi Tribune, also attended the celebrations.

The programme unfolded with a captivating introduction by narrators dressed as “Yakshaganas”, whose expressive storytelling added a traditional and dramatic charm to the evening. Each segment of the function was crafted to reflect the central theme of humanity and the journey from ignorance to enlightenment.

Earlier, the event began with an address by principal Rani Poddar..It was followed by a yoga presentation symbolising balance, inner peace and harmony. “Faith Story”, depicting the power of belief and righteousness, was also organised, followed by a Bharatnatyam performance that showcased India’s rich cultural heritage.

“Krishna Story”, capturing the divine essence and teachings of Lord Krishna and a Mime Act on universal brotherhood and empathy were also staged, followed by a lively Koli Dance.

The evening concluded with students coming together in a vibrant display of music, movement and a message — reinforcing the event’s core idea of rising from darkness into the light of universal brotherhood.
