Chandigarh, June 18

A couple has been booked for committing a theft at a jewellery store in Sector 22, on multiple occasions by posing as customer.

The complainant, Bitu Verma, manager of Durga Trading Company, reported that a couple, who claimed to be residents of Sector 23, visited the store on June 12. The suspects purchased two rings and managed to steal five.

The complainant alleged that the couple frequently visited their store to purchase jewellery following which they checked the CCTV of recent past.

It is alleged that the suspects visited the store on June 5 and had stolen two rings and a ring each was stolen on May 14 and 22.

A case was registered against them at the Sector 17 police station. The police have initiated an investigation into it.
