Thieves decamped with goods worth lakhs after breaking open locks and backside wall of one of the two showrooms on GT Road in Sirhind on Wednesday night.

Narendra Takiyar, owner of Mangalam Honda, said thieves took away goods and cash from the showroom. He said as per the CCTV footage three to four persons came in a Tempu at 3:30 am and took away three LEDs, two mobile phones, a laptop, a generator set and copper wire, which were kept at the showroom selling Honda scooters.

Amit Kapila, owner of Guru Nanak Spare Part Store, said thieves broke the backside wall and entered the showroom. He said thieves took away spare parts worth lakhs and some cash kept in the locker of the showroom.

The Fatehgarh Sahib SSP, Sandeep Goel, said, “The police have started investigation into both thefts. Fingerprint experts have been called. Thieves will be arrested soon. I have also warned security persons deployed on night duty to remain vigilant.”
