After a video purportedly showing a migrant boy and a woman being thrashed by unidentified assailants in Amloh went viral, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shubham Agarwal issued directions for the registration of a case.
Amloh Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Gurdeep Singh was asked to register the case and initiate legal action.
Swinging into action, the police identified three accused and arrested them. Raids, meanwhile, are underway to arrest the remaining three culprits.
Sharing details, the DSP said that the victims seen in the video were a couple. The boy has been admitted to the Civil Hospital for treatment of injuries. He said as per the directions of the SSP, a police case has been registered against six accused, of which three have been arrested.
Sources privy to the details said the boy is a migrant while the woman hails from Punjab itself.
The DSP further added warned against hate speech or spreading false rumors in regards with the case, saying strict legal action will be taken against anyone found indulging in such activities.
