Mohali, March 2
Three out of four miscreants, who tried to snatch a bag from a youth in auto last night, have been held by the police today.
The suspects have been identified as Krishan, the auto driver, Sumit Kumar, Sachin and Gurdiyal. According to the police, Sachin is at large while the rest three suspects have been arrested by the police today.
The complainant is Mohammad Armaan (21), a resident of Lucknow and is currently staying in Daun village, Mohali. Mohammad works at Lenskart store in VR Punjab Mall here.
The incident occurred around 10 pm on Sunday. Mohammad said, in his complaint, after returning home from his job, he hired an auto from Daun to Chandigarh as he had to go his hometown by bus. When he reached near Mata Sahib Kaur College, Balongi, four persons sitting in auto including driver allegedly tried to snatch his bag. Meanwhile, a scuffle broke out and one of the suspects fell down on the road. A case has been registered against the suspects under sections 379-B and 34 of the IPC. — TNS
