The police today arrested three persons for snatching a purse of an elderly woman in broad daylight in the Anaj Mandi police station area.

The suspects have been identified as Maninder Singh, Paramjit Singh and Manpreet Singh, all residents of Ram Nagar village in Sangrur.

A case has been registered against the accused on the statement of Gurdev Kaur, a resident of Upkar Nagar, Patiala.

According to complainant Gurdev Kaur, she was walking near her home on June 3 when two scooter-borne persons snatched her purse and sped away.

The elderly woman fell on the road and suffered injuries. The purse contained Rs 7,000 and a phone.

The police identified the accused from the two-wheeler’s registration number plate, which was captured on a CCTV camera in the area.
