Three awarded RI for stabbing Chandigarh cop

A local court has sentenced three persons Aman, Vishal and Veeru Kaancha to undergo three years of rigorous imprisonment for stabbing an ASI of the Chandigarh Police with a knife.
The police had registered the FIR on January 29, 2023, under various sections of the IPC at police station, Sector 34, on the complaint of constable Joginder Singh. He had stated that on January 1, 2023, he was on night patrolling duty along with ASI Darshan Singh in Sector 46. Around 11.15 pm, when they reached near the Sector 46 market, they saw some boys creating nuisance near a liquor shop.
When they approached them for inquiry, they tried to run away from the spot. However, they apprehended one boy along with with his cycle. Thereafter, they took him to the Sector 46 beat box for verification. Upon questioning, he disclosed his name as Aman, son of Chander Pal.
As they were questioning him, they heard some noise outside the beat box. When they along with Aman came out, they saw three boys creating commotion outside the beat box. Veeru caught hold of the ASI, who was holding Aman, and stabbed him.
The ASI despite bleeding did not let go Aman. He informed the control room and a PCR vehicle took him to a hospital. Later, all accused were arrested.
