To mitigate the severe impact that COVID-19 pandemic has had on the underprivileged, three Class-XII girls from Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh, have launched a venture to provide assistance to them.

Under their initiative, called Project Chhaya, Ganya Sandhu, Tanmya Deswal and Vanshika Gautam procured and distributed about 400 kg of dry rations along with 1,000 face masks, 2,500 sanitary pads and 200 bottles of sanitisers to over 50 families living in slums and shelter homes.

The students covered 11 different locations across the tricity and reached out to over 900 people to provide humanitarian assistance.
