Three-day PU Rose Festival starts tomorrow
Chandigarh, February 7
The 13th edition of the Panjab University Rose Festival will be held from February 9 to 11.
The event will be held at Prof RC Paul Rose Garden, which is spread over an area of 2.5 acre and has been given a facelift for the festival. More than 150 varieties of rose and 15 new varieties have been included this year.
The opening day of the event will witness flower competition and Mr and Ms Rose competitions besides a performance by Jagjit Wadali.
On the second day, rangoli and painting competitions will be held. The evening will see performances by rock band ‘Parwaaz’ and Punjabi singer Bhav Sidhu. On the third day, Rose Prince and Princess competitions will take place. In the evening, there will be a performance by Punjabi singer Raza Heer.
The organisers have received more than 500 entries for competitions. The event will be inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Prof Renu Vig.
