Three fatalities in Mohali, toll 151

278 fresh cases in dist, 236 defeat virus

The district witnessed three Covid fatalities today, taking the toll to 151. The district also witnessed 278 fresh cases of coronavirus, taking the tally to 7,652, while 236 patients were cured of the disease.

The Civil Surgeon, Dr Manjit Singh, said two men and a woman died of to the virus during the past 24 hours. He said a 55-year-old man from Kharar died at a Sohana hospital. He was suffering from kidney and lung diseases. An 80-year-old man from Desumajra died at Gian Sagar Hospital in Banur, while a 60-year-old woman from Badana village died at the Civil Hospital, Ambala. All patients had comorbidities, he said.

Of the 274 fresh cases, 73 were reported from Mohali (urban), 26 from Kharar, 69 from Gharuan, 71 from Dhakoli, 14 from Dera Bassi, four from Lalru, two from Boothgarh and 19 from Kurali.

The district has so far seen 7,652 positive cases. As many as 5,019 patients have been cured, while there are 2,482 active cases. The district has witnessed 151 deaths.
