The police’s Crime Branch apprehended three prime suspects allegedly involved in an attack on mining officials. The incident took place on Tuesday morning in the screening plant zone near Tangri bridge, Raipur Rani.

The attack occurred when officials from the Mining Department and police personnel were stationed at a checkpoint in Raipur Rani to curb illegal mining. At around 3 am on May 20, a group of young men approached the site on foot. One of them fired a shot from a pistol, which narrowly missed, passing over the head of a staff member.

The group then physically assaulted the on-duty personnel, leaving one, Praveen Yadav, seriously injured.
