3 arrested for stealing vehicles, solar panels in Panchkula
Teams of the crime branch and the local police have arrested three individuals involved in vehicle and solar panel theft cases.
In the first case, Mithlesh Kumar, a resident of Budhanpur, reported that his auto-rickshaw was stolen from Sector 15 on February 18. A case was registered at the Sector-14 police station in this connection. On March 5, acting on secret information, the crime branch arrested two suspects near Majri Chowk. They were identified as 21-year-old Sonu, alias Ninjha Hathori, alias Tunda, originally from Uttar Pradesh, and 25-year-old Simran, alias Simma, a resident of Punjab. During the investigation, the duo revealed that they had also stolen six solar panels from the Sector-3 Golf Club regarding which a case registered at the Sector-5 police station. The police recovered the auto-rickshaw and stolen solar panels near Nada Saheb Gurdwara.
In second case, Jatin Kumar, a resident of Chandigarh, reported that his Activa scooter was stolen on February 26 from outside a temple in Saketri, where he had gone to pay obeisance. A case was registered at the Mansa Devi police station in this regard. Based on the CCTV footage and secret information, the police arrested 19-year-old Saurabh, a native of Uttar Pradesh, currently living in Chandigarh, and recovered stolen two-wheeler from him.
