Complainant Sumesh (25), a resident of Raila village, Panchkula, told the police that he was celebrating his birthday with friends and cousins at a tavern near Amartex Chowk when an altercation took place with some youths around 11 pm. The argument soon turned violent after which one of the accused called for reinforcements, who arrived in an auto-rickshaw and launched a sudden assault with weapons on the complainant and his guests.

Based on inputs and viral videos, the police identified and arrested three main accused identified as Aslam, Faizan, both originally from Badaun, Uttar Pradesh, and Lalit, from Unnao, Uttar Pradesh. All accused were currently residing in Panchkula.
