Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP, Crime) Manpreet Singh Sudan said the police received information that four men had robbed a taxi driver at gunpoint under the Ramgarh bridge. Investigation revealed that the taxi had been booked using the InDrive app from a mobile phone that had been snatched in Chandigarh the previous night. The accused had first stolen a phone, used it to book a cab, and then looted the vehicle.

With support from the Cyber Cell, police traced the suspects within ten hours. A team led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP, Crime) Arvind Kamboj and Inspector Dalip Singh arrested two accused—Rohit Dhiman and Bittu Thakur—from Paonta Sahib.

Another raid in Khizrabad, Yamunanagar, led to the arrest of Satbir, from whom the robbed vehicle and weapons were recovered. A case of robbery and snatching has been registered at Chandimandir Police Station.

The DCP confirmed that Satbir was already wanted in an attempted murder case. During questioning, the accused admitted they were planning to kill a youth named Rishabh in Paonta Sahib, and needed a vehicle that could not be traced back to them. They intended to commit the murder and escape using the stolen car.
