Ahead of International Women’s Day, the Administrator appreciated larger percentage of female in education sector. “In the most of the convocations that I have attended, I have witnessed more women at the receiving end of distinction and degrees in colleges and universities, which is self-explanatory for India’s empowered women. Furthermore, women are leading in the front of each sector and coming up with innovative start-ups. Also, in a country wherein former President APJ Abdul Kalam had contributed to science and lived by an example, citizens have gradually realised that we are self-sufficient. That we can make everything in India be it artillery, vaccines or drugs, because we are in no way lesser than the West in talent, technology and intent.”

The Governor’s welcome, followed by the National Anthem, added a patriotic touch to the evening. On the side-lines, there was an engaging Startup Shark Soiree, where emerging entrepreneurs got the opportunity to pitch their ideas to seasoned investors and mentors. The formal proceedings began with a welcome address by the emcee, followed by a keynote speech from renowned entrepreneur Prithipal Singh.
