Top seed Neeraj enters next round in AITA tournament

Top seed local challenger Neeraj Yashpaul defeated Delhi’s Yashvardhan Singh in straight sets 6-1, 6-4 to march ahead in the men’s category during the CLTA-AITA National Ranking Tennis Championship.
Tanik Gupta of Madhya Pradesh struggled hard before logging a 6-4, 0-6, 6-4 win over Utkarsh Tiwari, while Haryana’s Aman Dahiya defeated Deep Munim of Madhya Pradesh 6-3, 6-2 and Delhi’s Sarthak Sudan was leading 7-6(8) against Jagmeet Singh, when the latter conceded the match. Jatin Nain, despite losing the first two sets 2-6, 6-7 (4) managed to move ahead as Rakshit Dhankar left the match. Vansh Nandal lost the opening set 3-2, but made a stunning 6-2, 7-6(3) comeback to defeat Delhi’s Tushar Mittal and Moksh Puri ousted Praneel Sharma 7-6(6), 6-2.
Upnishad Bhardwaj led the first 7-6 (0) against Rhythm Malhotra as the latter forfeited the match and Prag Sheoran also managed to clinch a 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 win over Rohan Mittal. Suraj R Prabodh defeated Varun Dhandhukia 6-1, 6-1 and Sajal Kesarwani overpowered a tough challenge thrown by Ricky Chaudhary 6-3, 1-6, 6-2. In the last three matches, Akshat Dhull defeated Shubh Negi 6-2, 7-5, Parv Nage ousted Mayank Yadav 6-2, 6-0 and Udit Kamboj defeated Svarmanyu Singh 5-7, 6-1, 6-3.
Anjali enters pre-quarters
In the women’s category, top seed Haryana’s Anjali Rathi easily overpowered Shefali Arora 6-2, 6-1. Divya Sharma marched into the next round as he ousted Ganya Gupta 6-0, 6-0 and Mahika Khanna of Uttar Pradesh defeated Mrinalini Sharma 6-3, 6-3. Saily Prashantkumar Thakkar was leading 6-1 when Tanushri Pandey conceded the match. Chevika Reddy Sama thrashed Himanshika Singh 7-5, 6-1 and Snigdha Paibandla defeated Jigyasa Narsinghani 6-1, 6-1.
Samriti Punyani overpowered Aditi Tyagi 6-7(9), 7-5, 6-3 and Shagun Kumari outplayed Ananya Yadav 6-2, 7-6(3). Samaira Malik defeated Bhumika Dahiya 6-3, 7-5, Bhumika Sanjay Tripathi ousted Sylvle Pal 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 and Diva Bhatia toppled Sanya Yadav 6-0, 3-0. Riya Sachdeva easily posted a 6-4, 6-4 win over Kanupriya Rajawat and Ayuishi Singh defeated Rutuparna Choudhary 6-4, 7-6(6). Medhavi Singh managed to record a 6-3, 3-6, 7-6(3) win over Apara Milind Khandare and Shatakshi Chaudhary defeated Pavithra Reddy Narem 6-2, 6-0.
