In the ongoing Yonex-Sunrise Ashwani Gupta Memorial All-India Sub-Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament, top seed Pushkar Sai defeated Abullah of Tamil Nadu 21-9 21-12. Assma’s Daksh Baruah logged 21-17 21-16 win over Vishwajit Thavil while Sanchit Jangra posted a 21-19 21-12 win over Nithin Ramasamy.

Aditya Tushir outplayed Vijay Charan 21-18 21-9, and Anshuman Choudhary outplayed Zorawar Singh withha 16-21 21-16 21-17 verdict. Prabhu Dhyani defeated J Pranith 21-17 21-15 and Shaurya Singh earned a hard-fought win over Chinmay Wankhede 21-15 15-21 21-13. Aditya Singh Negi also matched into the next round by defeating Rithivik 20-22 21-19 21-18, and Srichethan Samala posted a 16-21 21-10 21-19 win over Devansh.

In the girls’ U-15 event, top ranked Shaina Manimuthu posted a 21-8 21-9 and Subhrashree Smita defeated Manaswi 22-20 21-12. Jaya Saptha Sri defeated Gauri Kalla 21-19 21-15, Shruti Yetchina recorded a 17-21 24-22 21-19, Avni Vikram Govind beat Inayat Gulati 21-19 21-17 and Anita Sachdeva outplayed Bhavanthinga Ramkumar 21-12 21-7. In the boys’ doubles U-15 pre-quarterfinals, the team of Arjun and Nithin defeated Sai Sohan and Manan 21-19 21-19. Vivaan Bisht and Chinmay outplayed Samarth and Jatin 21-13 21-18, while the pair of Aditya and Tanmay posted a 21-9 21-17 win over Tanmay and Daksh.

Lakshay Rajesh moved into the girls’ U-17 singles pre-quarterfinals by defeating Nakshatra Jairaj 21-19 22-20. Somya Bhatnagar defeated Selvasamruddhi 10-21 21-14 23-21 in a tough outing, and Dikhsa defeated Hitha Maria 20-22 21-8 21-16 in another close match.
