Top seed Rohan Gurbani sailed into the boys’ U-19 pre-quarterfinals by defeating Shaurya Singh 21-14 21-16 in the All India Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament at the Sector 38 Sports Complex.

Vikas Yadav defeated Darshan Pujari 21-11 21-12, while Chayanit Joshi stunned fourth seed Siddhanth Gupta 21-18 21-16. Sixth seed Harsh Arora defeated Tonmoy Bikash Boruah 21-14 21-16. Raman Kumar beat 14th seed Udith 23-21 23-21, Pranav Rao Gandham thrashed Ayush Raj Gupta 21-17 13-21 21-9, Saneeth outplayed Sidarth 19-21 21-13 21-17 and Tukum Laa ousted Bharat Raghav 21-12 21-16.Mohit Jaglan defeated Anushrav Garg 21-12 21-19.

In the mixed doubles category, the pair of Edwin Joy and Shruti Mishra defeated Rajiv Goyat and Ria Kundra 21-13 21-17. Doddavarapu and R Sachan beat Mohammad Amaan and Akanksha Pandey 21-13 21-12. Advit Bhargava and Navdha Manglam beat Suraj Goala and Bhargavi K 11-21 21-16 21-19.

Udayakumar- Jolly record easy win in mixed doubles

The duo of Udayakumar and T Jolly from Kerala defeated Ved Dixit and Anusha Singh 21-8 21-11, Sabreeshwaran and Arulbala easily defeated Shashank Chhetri and Palak Manral 21-8 21-17, whereas Arryan Aji and Gowrikrishna defeated Rayudu and Yanamandra21-14 21-16. Anushrav Garg and Naina Trehan also advanced to the pre quarterfinals by defeating Anuj Bartwal and Vidhika Panwar 21-15 21-13, whereas V Suresh and Gurazada defeated Dhruv Bansal amd Vrinda Rana 21-10 21-13.

Deepshikha moves to girls’ pre-quarters

Fourth seed Deepshikha Singh of Delhi moved ahead in the girls’ U-19 quarterfinals by defeating Janhavi Kanitkar 21-15 21-18. Pruthvi Roy of Karnataka ousted Uneeth Krishna 22-20 21-15, while Jayant Rana ousted Manoj 21-12 21-14. Riya Kunjir recorded a comeback 16-21 21-13 21-19 win over Rutvi Baloni. Janani Ananthakumar defeated Rudra Rane 21-18 21-15, while Mansi Singh outplayed Khushi Thakkar 21-14 21-18, while Gautam Walia defeated Shashwat Dalal 21-16 21-11.

Mili Verma faced some tough resistance before recoding a 21-18 16-21 21-18 win over Mounika. Anya Chauhan defeated Srivedya Gurazada 17-21 21-18 21-17.
