Traders air grievances at GST panel meeting

The Chandigarh Beopar Mandal (CBM) took up the issues faced by trading community during a meeting of the Central GST Grievance Redressal Committee held here today.

The meeting was chaired by Jagritisen Negi, Chief Commissioner of the committee. Manish Saxena, Principal Commissioner, in-charge, GST Central, Chandigarh, and Hari Kalikut, Excise and Taxation Commissioner, UT, also attended the meeting.

CBM president Sanjeev Chadha and chairman Charanjiv Singh highlighted several pressing issues affecting traders, including irrelevant questionnaire by excise and taxation officers when new GST registration is applied and delayed cancellation of GST registrations.

Kamaljit Singh Panchhi, president, Chandigarh Traders’ Association, Sector 17, and Rajat Malhotra, legal advisor of the association, submitted a detailed memorandum during the meeting, which highlighted several long-standing concerns of businessmen.
