Committee chairman Sanjeev Chadha said the garbage collection process from the markets needs to be made practical by collecting the waste after the opening of business establishments.

“A sum of Rs118 being charged by the MC on each transaction to pay property tax online should be waived immediately,” he said, adding that all markets should be sanitised properly on a regular basis to prevent the spread of Covid.

During limited shopping hours, there should be no harassment by the anti-encroachment staff of the MC, he said.

Chadha said a memorandum would be handed over to the MC Commissioner in this regard in the coming week.
