Travelling between Chandigarh/Mohali and Kharar is nothing less than a nightmare for commuters. The situation worsens with a spell of rain. Adding to the woes is the fact that deployment of the traffic police is not enough. The casual approach on part of the authorities concerned and those involved in the construction of the Kharar flyover has resulted in delay in the completion of the project. Work has not even started on the Chandigarh side and also on the end towards Ludhiana. It’s high time that the higher authorities intervened to make sure that this long-pending flyover is completed at the earliest possible. Sanjay Chopra

Collect garbage timely

The Chandigarh Administration should pay heed to trash bins put up by the MC in every sector. They are often overloaded with garbage and cattle are found feeding on them. It is not only unhygienic, but poses a threat to the lives of cows and dogs that can consume non-biodegradable waste. The Administration must collect garbage from trash bins timely and place more dustbins.

Encroachment in Sector 43-B

The authorities should pay heed to encroachment by mechanics of Motor Market, Sector 43-B. The mechanics have parked two-wheeler for repair near residential area. Further, a small park and vacant land of the MC is used by mechanics and their customers for parking and repairing the vehicles. This is an inconvenience to the residents. They have problems in parking their vehicles. I have lodged complaints with the MC regarding this, but to no avail. Rai Sahab
