Haryana Assembly Speaker and local MLA Gian Chand Gupta said today that trans-Ghaggar sectors, which were earlier deprived of development, had been revamped in the past seven years after his election as legislator from the Panchkula Assembly seat.

Gupta said development works worth about Rs400 crore had been undertaken in the area during that period.

“Those living in sectors across the Ghaggar were deprived of basic amenities prior to 2014,” said Gupta while addressing a gathering after the inauguration of Working Women’s Hostel in Sector 27.

Referring to some projects in the area, he said the construction of NIFT in Sector 23 was almost complete and it would be opened next month. — TNS
