Transform scientific knowledge to uplift society: Haryana Governor
Presides over curtain raiser of the India International Science Festival
The Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO) here hosted the curtain raiser of the India International Science Festival – 2025 (IISF) today, marking the beginning of nationwide commemorations for one of the world’s largest science outreach initiatives.
Presiding over the event, the Governor of Haryana, Prof Ashim Kumar Ghosh, underlined the need to transform scientific knowledge into technology and innovation that uplifted society, and urged the younger generation to carry forward India’s scientific legacy with curiosity, creativity and commitment.
He said the IISF’s mission had always been to cultivate scientific temper, promote innovation and bridge the gap between science and society. The festival achieved this by making science accessible through exhibitions, hands-on experiments, theatre, demonstrations, innovation showcases and student-led initiatives, he added.
This year’s theme for the IISF, being held in Chandigarh-Panchkula from December 6-9, is “Vigyan Se Samruddhi: For Aatmanirbhar Bhara”.
