Transport Area to have better facilities soon, says Chandigarh Mayor Babla
Harpreet Kaur Babla, Mayor of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, has assured a delegation of the Chandigarh Transport Area Association to provide better facilities in the area. The association held detailed discussion on long-standing issues and development needs of the area.
During the meeting today, the association highlighted key concerns, particularly the urgent requirement for a dispensary in the Transport Area to cater to the health needs of workers and residents, as well as the necessity of increased funds for essential development works such as road maintenance, sanitation, street lighting and public amenities.
The Mayor gave a patient hearing to all demands and acknowledged the pivotal role of the Transport Area in the city’s economy. She assured the association members that their requests would be taken up with the Administration for an early resolution, particularly the establishment of a dispensary and allocation of adequate funds for development projects.
She directed the officers concerned to conduct a field visit and prepare a detailed proposal for addressing the identified gaps in basic civic infrastructure.
The meeting was attended by senior officers of the MC, members of the Chandigarh Transport Area Association and other stakeholders.
