UT Administrator Banwarilal Purohit paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of his death anniversary, observed as Martyrs’ Day. Purohit along with officers and staff members of Punjab Raj Bhavan observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect.

The Department of Education and the Department of Gandhian and Peace Studies of Panjab University also paid tribute to Gandhi by observing a two-minute silence. Lalit Jain, IAS, delivered a lecture on “My Understanding of Gandhian & His Way of Life” on this occasion.
