Tributes pour in for Milkha couple at prayer meeting in Chandigarh

Emotions ran high as hundreds of people from different walks of life attended a prayer meeting in memory of the Milkha couple — Milkha Singh and Nirmal Milkha Singh — at the Sector 8 gurdwara today.

Former MP Pawan Kumar Bansal, Shiromani Akali Dal (Democratic) leader and Lehra MLA Parminder Singh Dhindsa, city BJP president Arun Sood, area councillor Maheshinder Singh Sidhu, international golfers Harmeet Kahlon, Aadil Bedi and Karandeep Kochhar, PGTI CEO Uttam Singh Mundy and officials from Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh were among those who attended the prayer meeting.

Jeev Milkha Singh, ace golfer and son of the Milkha couple, along with his son Harjai Singh, sisters, wife and other family members paid tributes to his parents. People also paid tributes to the Milkha couple through the online mode.
