Tricity sees hot & dry day, clear skies ahead

The Tricity witnessed a hot and dry day on Saturday, with maximum temperatures settling above normal levels.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the day’s maximum temperature in the city was 36.9°C, about 5 degrees above normal, while the minimum stood at 23.8°C. Mohali reported a maximum of 36.2°C and a minimum of 25.2°C, while Panchkula touched 35.2°C of maximum temperature. Humidity levels in Chandigarh oscillated between 45% and 89%, keeping the conditions slightly uncomfortable during the day.

Officials said dry weather prevailed across Punjab and Haryana as well, with the day’s highest maximum temperature of 38.3°C reported from Mansa in Punjab and 37.8°C from Indri in Haryana.

FORECAST

The IMD has forecast mainly clear sky over the Tricity for the next five days. Maximum temperatures are expected to hover around 36°C, while the minimum will gradually dip to 23°C by midweek. No rainfall activity is likely during this period.
