Tricity weather update: Mercury dips below 10°C as nights get colder
'Partly cloudy conditions expected on Monday,' says weather office
Nights are turning distinctly colder across the Tricity as the mercury slipped below 10°C in Chandigarh and Panchkula, marking the season’s chilliest spell so far.
According to the Meteorological Centre, Chandigarh recorded a minimum of 9.3°C, while Panchkula was slightly lower at 8.8°C, both below normal by about 3°C. Mohali, however, remained relatively warmer at 12.9°C, widening the gap between day and night temperatures.
Daytime readings stayed near normal, with Chandigarh’s maximum at 28°C, indicating a sharp contrast between warm days and chilly nights. Relative humidity levels oscillated between 87% (maximum) and 31% (minimum), reflecting dry and crisp post-monsoon air.
The weather office said skies will remain mainly clear for the next four days, with partly cloudy conditions expected on Monday. Minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 8-9°C, suggesting colder nights ahead, while maximums may settle around 25-27°C. No rainfall is expected across the region.
