The police’s Anti-Narcotics Cell arrested a truck driver allegedly involved in smuggling drugs. The accused, Jasvir Singh, a resident of Haripur Sandoli, Himachal Pradesh, was apprehended on Sunday.
Acting on a tip-off, the police intercepted a truck traveling from Maharashtra on the Chandigarh-Shimla highway. Upon searching the vehicle, 6 kg poppy husk was found in a plastic bag.
A case has been filed under Section 15 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act at the Pinjore police station.

The accused has been taken into police custody for five days and further investigation is underway.
