Zirakpur, January 9

A 36-year-old woman was killed when a truck reportedly hit the Activa she was riding near here today. The victim has been identified as Neha, a resident of Chandigarh.

Sources said the incident took place when the victim was going towards Chandigarh from Zirakpur. As she reached near the Zirakpur-Patiala traffic lights, a truck allegedly hit her Activa, leaving her injured. She was rushed to the GMCH, Sector 32, Chandigarh, where she succumbed to her injury, the sources added. A case was registered against the truck driver, identified as Mukesh Rai of Lohgarh, Zirakpur, who has been arrested. — OC
