A speeding truck hit a motorcycle near Hallomajra today, leaving a man and his two children critically injured.
The victims have been identified as Ashok Kumar, a resident of Behlana; and his children Dikshant Chandel (16) and Anshika (13). According to the police, Ashok was turning towards a petrol pump when the truck, coming at a high speed, hit his motorcycle. The man had picked his children from school.
A Police Control Room (PCR) vehicle reached the spot within minutes and rushed the victims to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32. They were later referred to the PGI.
The driver fled the scene leaving the truck at the spot.
However, the police arrest of the accused, identified as Anurag, a resident of Daria.
“There is difficulty in locating a vein in Dikshant’s left leg and they fear it has to be amputated,” said a relative. The police have registered a case.
