As part of a special initative against illegal mining, Panchkula Police have seized two vehicles loaded with illegally extracted mining material. The action was taken by a team of Raipur Rani police station officials.
In the first operation, during late-night patrolling, officials intercepted a tractor-trailer involved in illegal mining near Natwal village. The vehicle was taken to the Mauli police post and the Mining Department was informed.
In a separate case, the police seized a tipper from near the Dakra Sahib river area in the Raipur Rani region. After being intercepted, the tipper was parked at Raipur Rani police station, and the Mining Department was notified.
Panchkula DCP Srishti Gupta said continuous checking was being done in all mining zones, along with constant surveillance through cameras to monitor suspicious activities. The aim, she said, was to ensure strict legal action against those involved in illegal mining.
